Postpartum Doula; (n)

One who holds the mother, when the rest of the world wants to hold the baby.

A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. Research shows that moms, dads, and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.

I offer many services to my clients, but my main goal is to “Mother the Mother”. This would include doing things to help mom (and dad) feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment, and tending to the unique needs of a new mother.

Support may look like...

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Emotional & physical recovery support after birth

  • Light housekeeping

  • Infant care

  • Infant care education and support

  • Meal preparation

  • Infant soothing techniques

  • Sibling support

  • Referrals to local resources

  • Daytime or overnight support

  • Constant communication... text me any time and I will reply as soon as I can

A little bit about Lauren

Hey there!

First and foremost, I am a wife and a mom. I have 2 little boys, 7 & 4. We live in NJ with our playful puppy, Nico!

When my oldest was born, I didn't realize how much postpartum would rock me, shape me, and change me. I don't say this to scare you, but rather to let you know how much I genuinely understand. It is a wonderful journey, but it can be life altering, and I want to help!

I have always had a passion for helping others. It wasn't until I became a mom that I realized how important supporting the new mother (the seasoned mother, or the entire family) as they shift their world with this new season  of life.... a beautiful baby to love.

I hope I can bring you support, calm moments, comfort, validation, and most importantly, SLEEP!!

Looking forward to meeting you!

XOXO

Lauren
